Those words linger in the air long after the conversation. I know I can do well in college if I wanted to, but I don’t want to. A place that starts of cheery and exciting, that gradually wears away into more of a prison with nothing else other than kissing my ass to professors who don’t give a shit about what kind of mental torment we go through to earn satisfactory scores, the scores that get calculated into our GPAs, the GPA that determines my ROTC scholarship and the fate of my 4 year college career. Let me tell you, I’m quite done with what friends and family are telling me to do. It’s my life, and I know what I want. Just give me a chance to prove myself.
